This workshop covers the benefits derived from taking regular exercise and having a healthy diet. We explore the myths behind some of the fitness jargon and show people how a healthy lifestyle can be incorporated into their daily routine. We explain the physiological changes that happen when you exercise regularly and the benefits in reducing blood pressure and cholesterol.

· Health and Well-being Affects Your Bottom Line

We explore the factors that make up a healthy individual and delve into areas such as 'how much does it cost you when a member of staff is off sick'. With 90% of work related illness being preventable, why is it that companies are not doing enough to prevent them?


· Fitness Hype Explained

In this session we explain some of the hype that drives the fitness industry. Terms such as 'cellulite', 'go for burn' and the real reason for fitness inductions are all highlighted. We help you to plan a sensible and safe training routine by understanding what fitness is really about.

· Nutrition for Health and Energy

Here we breakdown the components of a healthy diet and explain their role in providing fuel for the body systems. We show how some 'Fat Loss' diets can produce negative results and reduce energy levels. This session helps participants to match their eating patterns with their activities.

· In the Hot Seat

This workshop deals with the benefits of correct posture at the workstation. We demonstrate the muscular actions taking place when a person is working at a PC and show the strains on the skeletal system caused by incorrect posture. The workshop will teach techniques which will help participants sit correctly at their PC and enable them to work more efficiently without causing muscle fatigue, backaches or more serious problems.

· Hand and Wrist Workshop

Few of us realise the tension placed on the tendons and muscles in our arms and wrist as we type away at our keyboards for hours on end during the day. This practical session demonstrates some simple stretches and manipulation that can be performed by the participant, while at the desk, to reduce the build-up of tension in the hands and wrist. Postural advice is also provided to maximise the benefits of this workshop.

· It's a Pain in the Back

Back pain cost industry in this country billions of pounds each year. This session deals with the joint and muscle actions involved in many of our daily task and demonstrates practical ways in which we can reduce the risk of injury. Stretches and manipulation for reducing muscular tension will be demonstrated. The importance of posture will be highlighted and explained.

· Post and Ante-Natal Fitness

We explain the changes that happen when someone becomes pregnant and highlight safe and effective exercises that can be practised before and after delivery. The workshop will explain techniques such as massage, relaxation etc which can be used to help with delivery.

· Stretch and Relax

A refreshing session involving stretching relaxing and breathing exercises that will leave participants de-stressed and re-charged. This session involves working in pairs to assist stretching exercises and breakdown formal barriers existing in the office environment. We demonstrate how breathing is inhibited by bad posture and the effect this has on the rest of the body.

· It's a Jungle out There

One of our Sports psychologists shows how the principles of sporting competition can be applied to the business world. Team work and the will to succeed can make the difference between an organisation that leads its competitors or one that follows the pack.

· Practical Stress Relief

We delve into the positive and negative effects of stress and deal with practical ways of managing stress in our daily lives. The session will help individuals to recognise some of the bodies warning signals of stress overload.

· Alternatively Speaking

A look at the world of alternative treatments and their reported benefits or otherwise. This session is not designed to sell the idea of any one treatment over another but simply to provide participants with an idea of what is available and how these treatments can be incorporated into day to day life.
